Our Story

It started with a question.

Koala Nest began around one laptop, a few big ideas, and kids who wanted to help build something useful.

"Dad, what are you doing?"

"I'm working on an app — to help kids who are going through something hard."

They watched for a minute. "I want to help too."

"Yeah? How do you want to help?"

"I don't know."

"Think of something that would make life easier for someone. Or help solve a problem."

So they did.

Our nine-year-old went off, thought it through, and came back with a real idea — a way to help kids whose minds move fast keep track of tasks, stay on top of things, and feel proud of the work they do every day.

The name came easily: Tally Tree.

Built Together

Then we built it. Together.

They designed every piece — how the points work, what rewards feel like, and why a kid should walk away from their day feeling like they did something good.

"Yes." "No." "Do this." "Try that."

They called the shots. We made them work.

Four co-founders. One laptop. A whole lot of fun.

Growing the Nest

Word spread fast.

Pretty soon, their two younger siblings — ages 7 and 4 — wanted in too.

Now all three kids are creating their own apps — each with their own ideas, their own approach, and their own way to help.

(Some are still top secret.)

How Koala Nest Works

The kids design.
We build it together.
The apps grow.

And any profits from their apps go toward supporting their future—whether that’s college or whatever they choose to pursue.

Why It Matters

We’re not trying to build more apps for the sake of it.

We’re trying to build things that are genuinely useful—tools that help people feel a little more organized, a little more capable, and a little more proud of what they do each day.

Welcome to the nest. It’s a little chaotic. We’re really glad you’re here.
